Accenture seeks to hire Senior Researchers with a proven track record of hands-on research and development experience to investigate and pioneer next generation cyber security solutions. The successful candidate will conduct applied research in areas such as: combating human insider threats; cyber identity & attribution; tamper-resistance; modeling complex systems; fault-tolerance; securing virtualized environments; the use of deception, diversity and maneuverability-driven designs to ensure mission continuity while an attack is underway; and techniques for securing foundational Internet infrastructure.

We are looking for creative and engaging candidates who can help shape a high-impact cyber security research agenda within Accenture Technology Labs. We're interested in all aspects of cyber security, ranging from the development of new techniques for intrusion detection to ways to leverage cognitive technologies to help decision makers respond to threats more effectively. Our research group builds prototypes that demonstrate how advanced technology will change the way we live, work, and do business. We work closely with an efficient internal technology transfer system that helps researchers move ideas from research to the market. The position is located at our National Capital Region R&D facility.

Positions open at the Senior Specialist and Manager levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

Defining and driving the cyber security research agenda

Applying algorithms, computational models and theories to be used in prototypes and eventually transitioned into production environments

Designing and enhancing our Cyber Range platform to run experiments

Developing techniques, tactics and procedures to better understand malware behavior and to mitigate advanced persistent threats

Authoring white papers and supporting proposals while maintaining credentials through research publications, presentations and external collaboration with the academic and commercial research community

Leading teams and reviewing and evaluating their progress and outcomes

Engaging with customers and account teams through workshops, presentations and brainstorming sessions

Supporting the pursuit of contract R&D from DARPA, DoD, DHS, DoE or similar agencies

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*
PhD in Computer Science, EE, Computer Engineering or direct related field

*
4+ years experience practicing information assurance and computer network defense (CND)

*
3 + years in program management, technology transfer and project management

*
3 + years experience conducting research in one or more of these areas: intrusion detection, situational awareness, vulnerability analysis, data visualization, cyber identity and attribution

*
5+ publications at refereed conferences and journals with presentation at security forums

*
2+ years experience working with NIST SP 800-30/37/39 and NIST 800-53

Skills/Experience:

Proven track record of research accomplishments in relevant cyber security areas

Strong teaming and team-leadership skills

At least 5 years of hands-on experience with information assurance and computer network defense (CND) techniques and experimentation

Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication (presentation & writing) skills; ability to work directly with clients.

Strong programming skills such as Java, C and scripting language (Perl/Python/Ruby)

Familiarity with hacker methodologies and tactics as well as cyber threat intelligence gathering methodologies

Project management experience is preferred

A background in national security related issues is a plus

Security Clearance:

U.S. Citizen

Top Secret Clearance or the Ability to Obtain Top Secret Clearance is a plus
