Jobing Description
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
1. Develop a vision for integrated solutions that will allow the BSA team to serve the growing needs of its internal and external partners.
2. Manage and direct individuals as well as groups of individuals to ensure the proper alignment of resources to support AARP goals.
3. Manages resources in order to adhere to budget constraints.
4. Defines and owns the processes through which BSA considers, evaluates, prioritizes, defines, resources, and executes a variety of systems development projects requested by internal clients, and delivered through one or several vendors (including internal IT resources).
5. Assure the timely planning, resourcing, and delivery of prioritized projects:
a. Ensure that individual projects have clear scope and clear deliverables
b. Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to develop workplans, define roles, deliverables, timeline and budget.
c. Develop review schedules and acceptance criteria at each phase of the project.
d. Maintain project plans and issue/decision logs in order to track and report on project process.
e. Anticipate and proactively manage issues and roadblocks.
f. Assure the delivery of targeted results within time and budget constraints.
6. Facilitate the clear, accurate and complete definition and documentation of business requirements:
a. Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders
b. Establish perspective on potential system approaches to meeting requirements
c. Assure that requirements are clearly understood in design and development plans of technical resources assigned to develop solutions.
7. Manage and direct resources across a portfolio of projects to assure development inititiatives adjust to changes in the business priorities.
a. Monitor and address slippages in delivery schedules
b. Evaluate impact of new project requests and assigned resources
c. Prioritize and resolve project and resource issues and communicate issues and resolutions to stakeholders.
d. Direct vendor resources and manage project team productivity, prioritization and quality of deliverables.
8. Maintains relationships with client and vendor staff:
a. Maintains relationships with internal clients - directly and through client service teams - to assure requirements are understood, and to provide updates and status reports on portfolio of projects.
b. Develop and manage partnerships with various functional areas in order to ensure effective project delivery and allow for collaboration and leverage of previous work.
REQUIREMENTS:
? Completion of a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience within a technical business environment focusing on database development and management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
? Required to understand Database Marketing as well as core Marketing concepts and be able to apply those concepts across all projects and requests.
? Prior experience in managing outside large relationships with vendors/providers.
? Demonstrated successful performance in vendor management, and developing and managing all aspects of infrastructure development that significantly impacts business results.
? Proficiency in SAS, SQL and MS/Access, or equivalent tools
? Proficiency in business software (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Experience in MS Project preferred
? Experience managing development projects using SAS development tools and especially integration with relational databases.
? Solid understanding of emerging technologies and enterprise systems (query tools, reporting tools, etc.).
