Washington, D.C. Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) Services Subject Matter Expert (SME)
The candidate will provide subject matter expertise, in the areas of System Engineering, and Virtual Desktop Environments, to support the Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) services provided on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) HQ Consolidation Technology Integration Program (TIP). Provide support for Server and/or Application Migration, End-User Migration, Integration Design including Design Reviews, Quality Control Inspection and Test support. Provide technical input for the IT and A/V Infrastructure Integration effort to assist DHS Component agencies with the virtualization of servers and migration of applications to a virtualized environment.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
Duties include the independent validation and verification for the virtualization and migration of servers, end-users and/or applications and integration of infrastructure from several area locations onto a centralized campus infrastructure. Specific tasks will include:
? Successfully communicating with diverse project stakeholders regarding IV&V requirements and status.
? Reviewing and analyzing program requirements and plans to confirm completeness, accuracy, and consistency throughout the program lifecycle.
? Reviewing and reporting on project performance of contracted requirements in terms of schedule, cost, and deliverables. This includes defining and monitoring against specific performance metrics.
? Providing advisory assistance to the government on contracting (including performance based contracting) to help improve overall program performance.
? Verification of proper system installation.
? Validation of connectivity after installation.
? Validation of system and storage configuration, vis- -vis approved Engineering and Implementation Plans.
? Verification that virtual system resources are not overcommitted.
? Functionality testing of servers and applications following migration, in concert with system/application owners.
? Oversight of Systems Acceptance Testing for turnover to Operations and Support organization
Required Attributes:
? Experience with configuring/managing virtualized environments.
? B.S. Degree in information systems management, business administration, technology management, or related disciplines or equivalent experience.
? Experience in working on large federal IV&V project.
? Self-directed and detail oriented.
? Proficient in use of MKS ?Integrity?, MS Project, SharePoint and Excel, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write and edit a variety of general business correspondence, management reports, technical presentations, proposals and position papers
Desired Attributes:
? Operations Center design experience.
? Experience at DoD, DoE, DHS, or State Department is a plus.
? Strong problem solving, analytical, time management, organizational skills.
? Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
? Clearance: DHS Secret or above.
