Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries and revenues of $124 million.

We seek a D.C.-based Project Assistant to provide administrative and project support to our Food Security unit s program management and new business efforts. Responsibilities are to provide direct backstopping support to field offices; provide general support to headquarters and overseas staff; maintain project files; arrange travel; edit and format documents; process expense reports; attend and report on meetings; assist with proposals and conduct research. A bachelor s degree in international development, business, agriculture, health, nutrition or related field plus exposure to international development topics and current issues are required. Candidates must possess previous experience in an administrative capacity, have strong written and communication skills, possess budget and analytical capabilities, and be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the use of the internet as a research tool. Fluency in English is required; French language skills are preferred. Interest in specific areas of food security such as commodity management, health and nutrition, or environmental compliance is also preferred.
