Sales Engineer - Federal

Location: Washington, D.C.

Actiance enables the safe and productive use of unified communications, collaboration, and Web 2.0, including blogs and social networking sites. Formerly FaceTime Communications, Actiance's award-winning platforms are used by 9 of the top 10 US banks and more than 1,600 organizations globally for the security, management, and compliance of unified communications, Web 2.0, and social media channels. Actiance supports all leading social networks, unified communications providers, and IM platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, AOL, Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco.

Responsibilities:

* Presales support of federal team and reseller partners covering North America (90%)
* Some short-term post-sales consulting and training (10%)
* Assisting sales with deal qualification, etc..
* Presentation planning, creation and delivery both onsite and remote utilizing products like webex, Livemeeting, etc..
* Product evaluation planning and management, evaluation implementation and support for Actiance's software and appliance products
* Competitive differentiation throughout the sales process
* Internal product and marketing document review and feedback
* All pre-sales activities required to achieve the technical win in order to help acquire new customers

Experience and Background:

* At least 5 years of SE and/or consulting experience - background with customer-facing responsibilities
* Well rounded technical individual with hands-on ability and broad set of skills and product knowledge;
* Networking/TCP/IP,HTTP, Firewalls, Proxy servers, IDS/IPS, http/s, SOAP, etc..
* SMTP, SNMP, Windows, Linux, Solaris, SQL, Oracle, etc..
* Collaboration and Social media expertise with Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, IBM Connections, Microsoft Sharepoint and other similar platforms
* Hands-On product experience selling into regulated industries for companies like Proofpoint, ZL Technologies, Symantec (eVault), Vericept, VontueEMC, Jive, Yammer, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, etc.. or some other email archiving, DLP, Collaboration and Social Media products
* Hands-On product experience selling network security products like Websense, Bluecoat, Cisco, Secure Computing, Checkpoint, Cisco or any vendor that sells URLFiltering, IDS, firewall or server-based anti-malware products
* Willingness to travel up to 40%
