SUMMARY: Provide test leadership for the Quality Assurance team of the IT Service Portfolio office. Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans that address all phases of testing (functional, performance, and security) to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. The Software Quality Analyst (Specialist 2) is involved in all phases of testing; test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Individuals define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status as well as participate in test bed planning and installation/maintenance. Position requires moderate interaction with IT management staff and leadership. Additionally, the position requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate business objectives into measurable, testable requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Analyze software requirements and evaluate them for test planning.
* Define functional and usability requirements and assist with requirement documentation
* Interact with project managers, software designers and developers, testers, and customers to define and develop use cases and/or testing scenarios and to assure adequate coverage to establish product confidence
* Develop test plans to address functional, performance, integration, regression, and acceptance testing
* Coordinate testing plans with project managers, testers, and customers to insure work is consistent with development and deployment schedules
* Place test planning materials under configuration management
* Update test requirements as system changes are approved for implementation
* Assist with development and execution of automated and manual Test Cases
* Participate in a planned program of professional development to remain current with industry and technology developments
* Undertake other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor s degree required, preferably computer related, plus 4 years experience in software quality assurance or software development required.
-3 years of test automation experience using Mercury s QuickTest Professional or LoadRunner 2 years experience with Oracle PL/SQL
-Familiarity with all phases of the software life cycle is required. Specific experience in requirements analysis and design are preferred.
-Demonstrated analytical and diagnostic skills required
-Knowledge of requirements and design specification methods is required
-Familiarity with current technologies is desired; especially in complex, transaction-intensive web-based systems highly desired, preferable utilizing SOA techniques implemented using Java, PHP, Cold Fusion, XML or Web Services experience is preferred.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills required
-Ability to work independently and interface collaboratively with development teams required.
