JOB SUMMARY: We are currently looking for dynamic and committed On-Call Crisis Specialists to cover 12-hour shifts, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 12pm-12am.
This position provides on call after hours (generally weekends and holidays) clinical and professional crisis work as part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Provides rapid mobile outreach and crisis assessment and stabilization services to children (birth to 21) and their families who live in the District of Columbia and Maryland and are active clients with the District of Columbia, Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). This position is considered as essential (Mobile Stabilization Services (MSS) employees are required to work during inclement weather and other Catholic Charities emergency closings).


• Provide coverage on holiday shifts and weekend shifts.
• Check and respond to email and phone calls from the office or a Manager within 24 hours.
• Deploy to de-escalate and stabilize clients in their homes, placement, or community and assess their therapeutic needs to determine eligibility for services.
• Complete the intake form, crisis support plan, and notes immediately following deployment and upload documents into the data system within 24 hours.
• Attend mandatory training, staffing and monthly meeting with clinical supervisors as required. Participate in individual supervision bi-weekly.
• Collaborate and link clients with community resource agencies and groups, as well as communicate with families regarding clients’ adjustment and the coordination of care.


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field. Licensure in relevant discipline or the ability to be licensed by the District of Columbia and Maryland, i.e. LBSW, LMSW, LGSW, LGPC, etc.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with youth and families.
• Previous experience working in crisis intervention preferred
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and cultural responsiveness.
• Knowledge of computer systems (MS Office products) is essential, including Excel and Outlook. As well as ability to use Catholic Charities database, Credible, and remote access.
