Job Summary: The Janitorial Worker is responsible for cleaning the assigned building as directed by their supervisor

Essential Job Duties:
• Cleans facility including offices, prepares vacant rooms, restrooms, kitchen/cafeteria, building grounds and perimeter.
• Assists with clean-up of spills and standing water.
• Follows specific step-by-step cleaning directions for all industrial cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, proper use of vacuum and wet vacuum, power washer, etc.
• Notifies Supervisor of low inventory supplies.
• May assist with clearing sidewalks and salting during snow and inclement weather requiring change in scheduled time of arrival.
• Utilizes floor stripping and cleaning/ maintaining equipment such as floor scrubber and high speed buffer, toilet snake/ plunger.
• Understanding of the basic maintaining tools (drills, hammer, etc.)
• Replaces florescent and incandescent light bulbs and smoke detector batteries throughout the facility.


Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED.
• One (1) to two (2) years job-related experience.
• A valid local driver’s license and a clean driving record.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Must be capable of properly lifting packages up to 75 lbs.
• Must have basic computer skills (MS Office Suite).
• Knowledge of hygiene standards as prescribed by OSHA standards.
• Ability to work with diverse staff and client population.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a stressful environment.
