Our client is an industry leading tech/media company based in the DC area. Role Overview
Senior Revenue Accountant will perform in-depth analysis, internal control and ensure integrity of the Company’s financial information. Additionally, this role will perform complex accounting tasks and review the work of other department staff members. The ideal candidate has several years of public accounting experience, with a background handling technical matters/implementation (i.e. ASC 606, preferred), and familiarity with the NetSuite software.

Role Description
  • Support with reviewing complex multiple-element revenue arrangements to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with company policies and ASC 606
  • Handle revenue-related schedules for external auditors and coordinate PBC request
  • Perform monthly revenue close activities including account reconciliations, flux analyses and generation of journal entries to ensure timely and accurate revenue reporting
  • Assist in maintaining and updating documentation for revenue policies and procedures
  • Aid in the development, testing and documentation of internal controls over various processes
  • Assist in system implementation and process improvement projects to build an IPO-ready revenue accounting & operations function
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (from reputable institution)
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting
  • CPA, highly preferred or are working towards your CPA, required
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, preferred
  • Possess, analytical, and technical skills to develop financial models using various software packages
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, preferred
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
