One of our clients is seeking a Summer Special Education Teacher to provide services in the Washington, DC area.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Use effective lesson delivery techniques to provide instruction to students and facilitate classroom discussions in a variety of subjects including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, etc.
* Facilitate the participation of young adult students with IEPs and 504 plans.
* Confer with general education teachers both prior to the students entering the general education classroom and regularly, regarding the students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or 504 needs, their educational, social-emotional and physical needs, and the learning objectives of each student.
* Collaborate with the general education teacher suggesting appropriate modifications and/or accommodations to the lesson plan; ensuring their implementation through team teaching, co-teaching, in either small group or whole class; and assessing overall progress of the students
* Submit lesson plans to the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT)
* Complete reports on attendance, student progress, and other documentation as required by the administrative team.
* Utilizing appropriate methods of learning and instruction delivery to meet the needs of each student in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).Develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with all students and staff.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (minimum), Master's degree (preferred)
* Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Special Education (preferred)
* Experience working in a multicultural setting serving youth
* Certified (preferred) or eligible for certification in the District of Columbia
* Ability to complete and pass clearances: FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal
