Develop, recommend, and implement credit risk standards for products or assets the company finances or underwrites. Assess and approve credit limits and monitor credit exposure for routine and complex transactions. Apply credit management models to current assets or underwritten products to recommend shifts in collateral or reserves to mitigate credit risks.

  • Perform risk assessments, gap analysis, and evaluation of risk controls and mitigation activities to provide independent opinions to stakeholders that add value and support effective management of risks
  • Develop and execute complex analysis to evaluate potential risks related to proposed changes and/or exceptions to credit policy, underwriting and eligibility requirements and incremental risks associated with new business activities
  • Monitor adherence to established risk limits and proactively identify evolving risks and/or changing risk profiles
  • Conduct credit analyses using standard and more advanced methods and tools of aggregated data provided by lenders, clients of the organization, or other sources of data.
  • Create or assign credit scores to aggregated data from multiple loans based on the company's proprietary underwriting or loan origination software.
  • May take lead in maintaining data integrity of proprietary credit rating or underwriting applications and assist as a business-end user in their systems enhancements.



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required    
  • 2   years of related experience
  • Proficient with Share Point  and functional in the use of business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Working knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Collateral Underwriter (CU) tools
  • Knowledge and experience working with credit scoring models and credit bureau products used to assess credit risk 
  • Experience in performing enterprise risk management activities including risk assessments, risk analysis, gap analysis, risk quantification, and evaluation of risk controls
  • Understanding of credit risk management best practices and experience performing credit risk analysis
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending and underwriting concepts, including basic credit policy and loan eligibility requirements
