    Helios HR has been retained by Herren Associates to find a talented DoD Acquisition Associate to support its work with the Navy’s PMS 320 Office. We are looking for a candidate who has five or more years of experience with Acquisition and Program Management and an eagerness to grow in their role. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment supporting multiple stakeholders’ personalities with varying requirements and workloads. They need to comfortable taking lead with projects and initiatives but also be able to flex into a support role as the client takes more ownership.

    This position requires:

    • Active Secret clearance
    • BS required (ideally business administration or engineering degree), advanced degree a plus
    • Preferred: PMP or DAU Acquisition Level II/III or equivalent
    • Ability to work at or near the Navy Yard in downtown Washington, DC

    Responsibilities

    • Support ongoing and future acquisition initiatives within client organization (Department of the Navy, Electric Ships Office) including day-to-day operations along with long-range planning related to acquisition approaches, methodologies, and strategies
    • Drive efforts to establish program/project management excellence with direct stakeholder support and within the broader organization
    • Organize and execute assigned projects on behalf of client based on existing and emerging client requirements
    • Manage, analyze and develop perspectives using complex data sets to identify opportunities, gaps, weaknesses and risks
    • Formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to a client’s objectives, capabilities, and limitations
    • Present improvement opportunities through succinct, impactful and compelling presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel) using fact-based justifications and evidence (e.g., Business Cases)
    • Assist the client in developing and implementing the plan, reducing constraints, and mitigating risk

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Proven experience with acquisition, program management and/or management consultant or equivalent
    • Experience working as a consultant within the DOD or related government agency
    • Extensive Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical abilities with excellent data collection and analysis capabilities
    • Attention to quantitative and qualitative details is critical
    • Aptitude for creative problem-solving in ambiguous and dynamic business environments
    • Comfort with quick ramp-up in subject matter areas with limited exposure or experience (e.g., fast learning curve)
    • BS in business administration, engineering or relevant field

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
    • Experience working with DOD contracting activities (e.g., RFIs, SOWs, RFPs, TARs / IGCEs)
    • Experience working within R&D type organizations with a minimal focus on technology transition
    • DAU Acquisition Level II/III (or equivalent)
    • MS/MA in a specialized business/engineering field will be an advantage (or equivalent)
    • Knowledge of diverse business operations (e.g., Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance, Org Design, IT)
    • Familiarity with a wide selection of business management software (CRM, ERP etc.) and databases
