Sidwell Friends, a co-educational, PK-12 Quaker day school, seeks applicants with a passion for coaching for part-time Field Hockey Coaches for the 2019-2020 school year. Additional coaching or administrative responsibilities would be considered for the right candidate. The School has outstanding athletics facilities including natural grass soccer field, an all-weather track, four full size gyms, a fitness center, two artificial turf fields, a large dance studio and six tennis courts.

Coaching responsibilities involve promoting and creating a positive team culture, developing fundamentals and skills of the game, organizing and enthusiastically running practices, and implementing effective game strategies.�� 

It is expected that Coaches will maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management, foster a culture that promotes the Quaker values of the School and academic experience of the student, and intentionally integrate school core values as the framework from which to coach and build athletic programs. A thoughtful approach and a desire to constantly improve and innovative thinking will be essential to success in this role. Pre-season will start Aug 19th and run until Aug 30th, with the regular season running through early November. Practices are 5 times per week.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level, and/or in a strong club Field Hockey setting. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
