With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. We strive to provide success paths toward mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training and employment with a living wage, affordable housing, and ultimately living independently and confidently.  

SOME, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Night Manager for our Family Services department -  Griffin House. Family Services provide safe and dignified affordable housing for families. Position Description: This position will manage building operations and maintain security of facility during off hours. This position will also provide program support and light upkeep of facility and maintenance activities in order to provide a comfortable, clean, and dignified home for residents.  

Schedule: Full-time, Shift: Monday - Friday: 4pm-8pm & 10pm-2am; Saturday: 5pm-1am

**40 hours per week. "an agreed upon weekday & every other Saturday off"; schedule may change based on the needs of the program**

Qualifications: 

Required: Some High School Education or a High School Diploma; 1-3 years of security, residential and/or janitorial experience. Experience providing services to low-income populations, families, and seniors; Must be willing to undergo a FBI Criminal background check; MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO RESIDE ON THE PROPERTYMust be able to provide program coverage most weekends.

Required License/Certification: CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance techniques
  • Flexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing priorities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to read and write
  • Ability to work independently and work in a team environment
  • Relationship building skills
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Ability to set professional boundaries

Contributions:  

  • Safety Management: Supervise and circulate the building. Maintain a visitors log and record any usual incidents or violations. 
  • Program Management: On occasion perform resident drug and alcohol testing. Participate in scheduled building meetings.
  • Community & Maintenance: Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the property and assist in getting units ready for move in.
