  • Overview

    The Associate Creative Director is responsible for managing creative activities on all assigned accounts, which includes strategic direction, concept approval, supervision and shared supervision of work flow and production in all mediums, including: Print, Broadcast Production and Interactive disciplines.

    Responsibilities

    Creative Management
    • Provides strategic leadership to the Creative team and ensures all work is strategically on target
    • Oversees the development of art and copy on a day-to-day basis for all work on assigned accounts
    • Approves creative concepts and sells concepts to VP/Creative Director, Account Management teams and client(s)
    • Alerts VP/Creative Director and other strategic leaders of any current or anticipated creative discrepancies or communication disparities between clients and creative teams/projects
    • Works in a Copywriter or Art Director capacity as needed and performs the duties of the respective position when in this role
    • Responsible for creative output and project budgets for all assigned creative work
    • Develops schedules and workflow to meet shared Creative and Account Management team expectations
    • Reviews and contributes to all creative work plans
    • Makes recommendations to VP/Creative Director and other team members on how to improve process and product
    • Works with VP/Creative Director to manage Creative team in ensuring quality and accuracy on all creative products
    • May be responsible for direct communication with Account Director(s) regarding business scopes, financials, schedules and planning
    • Communicates with client(s) on campaign best practices along with VP/Creative Director and Account Management teams
    • Consistently creates effective, innovative and original solutions to clients’ marketing problems
    • Maintains integrity of creative work through execution
    • Works with VP/Creative Director to develop budgets and manage creative team to meet budget targets for all project
    • Works with VP/Creative Director and Director, Creative Services to monitor workflow and allocate resources within department and project budgets
    • Notifies VP/Creative Director if client changes impact budget and/or schedules of an assignment
    • Additional duties may be assigned


    Agency Growth
    • Leads all aspects surrounding new business pitches
    • Contributes to new business projects as requested
    • Adheres to agency-defined workflow procedures as directed by Marketing Services and/or executive leaders
    • Exemplifies fiscal responsibility by adhering to agency and client expense management and staffing policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree plus seven or more years of art or copy experience in a direct/relationship marketing agency environment
    • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office, database, Internet environments and industry-standard software programs
    • Understanding of both the art and copy side and the ability to evaluate both
    • Diverse account and industry experience
    • Experience in and ability to evaluate all mediums including mail, print, television, radio and interactive in order to develop fully integrated marketing campaigns
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to team with others and lead when necessary
    • Ability to offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression
    • Ability to meet high standards for quality and accuracy under tight deadlines
    • Ability to work above and beyond the call of duty and provide guidance across departments in a team and matrix environment
    • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task effectively
    • Ability to exhibit client service approach with results-driven performance
    • Understanding of how to solve marketing problems with creative solutions
